Easy One-Pan French Fries
I love homemade french fries- they are the perfect side with almost any meat. I have used a variety of recipes over the years, and they have turned out delicious. However, I would have to start them hours in advance to soak the potatoes, or stand over the stove for an hour flipping them as they fry, or dirty 5 different bowls and pans. I knew there had to be an easier way!
Here is my version of one-pan french fries, with very little hands-on time or dirty dishes.
Ingredients:
3 large Russett potatoes
1/4 cup avocado oil (or desired fat of choice)
1/8 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp dried rosemary
3/4 tsp salt (large flaky salt if you have it)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 425 F.
Cut each potato in half, length-wise.
Taking one half, cut potato into 1/4-1/2 inch slices.
Lay each of the newly sliced pieces flat. Cut each one into ~1/2 inch pieces. Each slice will make approximately 3 fries.
Line baking sheet with unbleached parchment paper. Pile up fries onto parchment paper.
Pour 1/4 cup avocado oil (or fat of choice) directly over pile of fries. Also add black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and dried rosemary over oil.
Mix well with hands, making sure each potato slice is well-covered. Mix across the entirety of the pan, making sure that the parchment paper is getting coated with oil.
After mixing oil and spices well over the potatoes, spread the slices out over the pan in an even layer. Do not pile fries on top of one another.
Bake at 425 for 15 minutes. Give fries a toss, flipping to the other side.
Bake for another 18 minutes or until desired crispiness is reached. If 18 minutes is not enough, add 2 minute intervals until fries are crispy.
Once they are finished baking, sprinkle with flaky salt (regular fine salt can also be used).
